Programs in Port

The Scholar Ship's Port Program provides English program students with practice opportunities in host countries around the world that bring the onboard learning to life. The Port Program also allows students to explore the diverse cultures found in these countries through the four elements of the program:

• English language program in port (integrated part of the program)
• Community Service (optional)
• Shore excursions (optional)
• Independent Travel (optional)

Some of the Port Program is an integrated part of the total learning program. Some of it is optional, depending on different students’ preferences and priorities.

Port Program Objectives:

• To develop English language skills in real-life situations
• To contribute to the overall mission of The Scholar Ship program to develop students’ intercultural competence.
• To help students to experience the culture of the destination countries first-hand
• To help students to have fun on shore
