Programs in Port - Shore Excursions

Our shore excursions are designed especially for The Scholar Ship’s students and are available at each port of call to explore the unique aspects of the local culture. The options very widely in duration, cost and content. Ranging from one hour to six days, excursions serve a wide variety of student interests and budgets.

Shore excursions include adventure tours (for example cycling through a protected national park), customized cultural and historic tours (for example a private behind-the-scenes tour of a natural history museum), participation activities (for example cooking or dance classes), and youth exchanges. These organized excursions may be near to ports or may be across the country, requiring air travel and overnight stays.

Unlike the English language program in port, the cost of these optional shore excursions is not included in the program fee.
