Social Science

The global community is currently in the midst of a rapid and potentially fundamental transformation. International markets allocate capital and labour at heretofore unseen pace, fostering both economic development and social dislocation. New communications and transportation networks facilitate the rapid movement of people, goods and ideas. Emerging technologies amplify the reach of military force and the influence of civil society movements. Working from this foundation, the Research Institute organises its social science research into five interdisciplinary programmes.
