Program Fees - September 2008 and January 2009 Voyages
Undergraduate 21395 USD
Postgraduate 22900 USD
The value of a quality education is not easily measurable. However, The Scholar Ship has arguably developed the most innovative program in the context of international and intercultural education. The program’s practical and relevant learning outcomes underscore its value to students who seek genuine international experience to enhance their ability to operate successfully across cultural, political and linguistic boundaries.
Participating in an intercultural academic program while traveling the world aboard a passenger ship is an extraordinary opportunity. Our oceangoing campus serves as the backdrop for continuous transcultural encounters that would be virtually impossible to replicate elsewhere.
Program Fees include all of the following:
- Semester-long voyage aboard The Scholar Ship
- All instruction and academic credit equivalent to one semester of coursework in either the undergraduate or postgraduate program
- Participation in four required academic field programs during port calls
- Accommodation in a standard two-person inside cabin with bathroom (Depending upon availability, cabin upgrades may be available at additional cost)
- Three meals per day when at sea or in port
- Accommodations, transportation and most meals for the three required Academic Field Programs
- Standard medical insurance.
Additional costs that are not included in the Program Fees include books, supplies and incidentals (such as laundry, sundries and snacks), optional shore excursions and independent travel at various ports of call, which may average between 2500 USD and 5000 USD, plus the following transportation and administrative costs:
- Travel to and from the ports of embarkation and debarkation
- Passport and visa expenses
- Required damage deposit of 175 USD (return of which is subject to deductions for damage)
- A 50 USD non-refundable application processing fee
Note: The above additional costs are provided to represent possible expenses that a student may incur and are not intended to be comprehensive.
