Voyages
Participating in an intercultural academic program while traveling the world aboard a passenger ship is an extraordinary opportunity. The Scholar Ship embarks on a semester-long journey around the world twice a year, commencing each January and September. Itineraries vary from voyage to voyage, but all are planned to provide engaging learning experiences through our Port Program, which complements our Academic Program and Onboard Life Program.
Each voyage calls on approximately eight to ten ports in which several days (typically one week) are spent to provide students an enriching experience through their participation in academic field study, community service, shore excursions, and independent travel.

We consider the following in planning our voyages:
- Each destination and travel route must meet strict Health and Safety protocols established to ensure the well-being of our community members.
- Each destination, beyond the port of call, must demonstrate ample opportunities for the development of our Port Program.
- Points of embarkation and debarkation are relatively affordable and accessible by air travel.
- Adequate time is provided during first leg of journey to inform community members of policies and procedures, and onboard and port programs. Also, it is important during this stage to provide community members the opportunity to become acquainted.
- Adequate time during final leg of journey is provided to bring closure to the various programs and activities in which students are engaged.
Our oceangoing campus serves as the backdrop for continuous transcultural encounters that would be virtually impossible to replicate elsewhere.
